Green KZN hills tougher than expected
It was billed as a fast, flowing course in the sugarcane fields around Collisheen Estate, but dusty, muddy duathletes piling through the finish chute told a very different story, of big rolling uphills, sharp technical turns and BMX-style speephumps to negotiate in the fifth event in the R300,000 Momentum Health i-Flex Duathlon National Series.

Youth trumps experience at National Duathlon Series 2011
The contrast between youth and experience was clearly highlighted in the world-class results at event three in the 2011 Momentum Health i-Flex National Duathlon Series.
Pollock Beach in Port Elizabeth delivered a cold morning that gradually warmed up. The Weather Bureau could not confirm whether this was a direct result of the red-hot racing action on the flat road circuit, but rumours persist.

Richard Murray has now won two back-to-back events in the Series; the last was the offroad event at Zevenwacht Estate in the Cape and the most recent the road event in Port Elizabeth. He will be leaving for overseas triathlon races in his quest to gain points to Olympic qualification. Here he speeds up recovery with a cup of PeptoSport and compression calf sleeves to reduce post-race stiffness.

Team inov-8 teammates Carlyn Fischer and Carla van Huyssteen enjoy the limelight after their strong showing at the Port Elizabeth leg of the Momentum Health i-Flex National Duathlon Series, the third of six events in the 2011 Series. Carla won the last event at Zevenwacht Estate in the Cape, showing her all-round talent as a strong mountain biker and road cyclist. Carlyn won SA Triathlon Champs in April and has had a stellar year so far. |

Blood, sweat and tail-slides in tough Winelands duathlon tester
The second leg of the Momentum Health i-Flex National Duathlon Series took South Africa's best duathletes to the scenic, dusty heights of Zevenwacht Estate in Kuilsriver, with the looming mass of Table Mountain on one side and the burning mountains of Somerset West on the other.
With so many mountains in view, it was little surprise that the race course on the 450 hectare property featured generous helpings of up and down. Warm, almost windless conditions and cloudless skies provided a canvas for what turned out to be a day of red-hot painting by the top three artists in both the men's and women's races.

Event 1 of the Momentum Health i-Flex National Duathlon Series powered by PeptoPro took place on a perfect day at Roodeplaat Dam to the north of Pretoria. A great turnout of approximately 450 athletes participated in the event, which is an indication of the growing trend towards multisport.
The day started off with the ever popular and growing kiddie’s race, and soon after this the main race of the day took place.

18 April 2010 - Round Two of the Momentum Health I-Flex National Duathlon Series took place at the beautiful Zevenwacht Wine Estate in the Western Cape. Weather conditions were good as a light breeze and sunny skies welcomed all the participants.
Event 2, an off-road event, course designer Andre de Beer made sure that the participants would be put to the test with a well designed course that provided a little bit of everything. With the series offering the biggest purse in SA the top duathletes all made their way to Zevenwacht and the stage was perfectly set for challenging competition.

Sunday 9 May 2010 was not only Mothers Day but also Round 3 of the Momentum Health I-Flex National Duathlon series, and what a perfect day it was. Clear skies, mild temperatures and little wind set the perfect stage for this off road event at Northern Farm just west of Fourways.
Mothers Day definitely didn’t keep the mothers away from the event. In fact in all of the brats,kiddies and main events we witnessed record numbers participating.

Sunday 19 September 2010 - The 2010 Momentum Health I-Flex National Duathlon Series has been the most exciting, since the inception of the Series three years ago, largely due to bigger participation across the board and bigger sponsors getting involved but also because we have witnessed four different male and four different female winners in the course of the Series.
The final round of the Series took place in the North West Province at Potch Dam. Perfect weather conditions and a flat on road route provided the perfect stage for all participants.
